Blah!
Everybody has them. Those periods of time when you have the blahs. Spiritually trapped. In a funk . I think even the disciples had those period of time when they were not their best. Questioning , feeling somewhat hopeless, bereft . I think that is what irritates me the most about the " feel good" preachers out there . Truth is, we are human. We don't always " feel good". Some days stink. Some weeks stink......sometimes it's even longer. Does that mean we are not truly born-again Christians? Don't believe it. It just means we are being real.
Jesus was real . That was the whole plan. He was human so that He would understand our struggles . He gets it. Remember His prayer at Gethsemene? He was in agony. Although we are confident He never sinned, we see examples of His humanity in his anguish and in other examples in the Bible.
When I first started this blog, I had no idea that God would call me to do it for over two years now. I have considered it a privilege. But I do no one any favors, and do not honor God, if I am fake and superficial. I want to be able to share my struggles with you, and you to share yours with the rest of us. Only one time has a person asked for prayer on this blog when struggling. Many of you responded....it was wonderful. It has never happened again.
So here I am....telling you about my blahs. That I am down right now. Yukky. In need of your prayers. I know God will pull me out of this. I know He will pull you out of your funks. That's one of the things He does best. So, I will do as a good friend admonished me to do......turn on the praise music! More praise of Him, less thoughts of myself. It works every time. In the meantime, please pray for me. Let's remember to share with others when we need extra prayer. It's why God gave us networks such as this for each other. We need each other. We need to feel the prayers of others that are offered up in our behalf. Even in our "virtual" meeting place. So thanks in advance....and I will "see" you soon.....
